The series EXPECTATIONS shows situations that look obvious but the result is different than what we would expect.
The digital World has no limits or rules. And if there are any limits or rules they will be broken by faster hardware or extremely smart people creating new awesome algorithms.

Working in digital 3D space makes it possible to completely redesign the way things work. It is possible to make animations and scenes complete charakters that act, look and feel like they where completely real. But in this series i want to create completely realistic scenes but change just one physikal behavior.
In this animation the water looks like water. Not extremely realistic water but it looks obviously like water. But i gave it the behavior of a normal solid plane. So everything i will drop on this ocean waves will just bounce off like throwing it on the floor.
It wasnt easy to create this effect becouse Blender doesnt support normal mesh collision on changing geometry. Or i just cant figure it out how to do it. So i needed to create a particle system, becouse particles can be collide with deforming geometry. Thats the reason why i choose red balls to drop down on the ocean waves and not something like an anvil that would be more obviously an object that cant swim on water.
